Prevalent South African rapper, a previous convict Pitch Dark Afro has misplaced his mother. His mother Geli Amelia Vilanculos Ngcobo kicked the bucket a week back at her house in Orlando East and was buried this week at Avalon Cemetery, Soweto.

 

 

Pitch Dark Afro, genuine title Thulani Ngcobo, is known for his hit singles such Ntofontofo’, Never Let You Go and Let’s Make Love.

 

The 45-year-old rapper told the distribution he is thankful for the time he got to spend with his mother after his discharge from prison.

 

 

 

“My mother passed absent in front of us, whereas we were tuning in to radio stories on Ukhozi FM. She inquired us to put her on the lounge chair as she was tired from standing, not knowing those were her final words. She was 82, I’ll continuously adore her,” he said.

 

 

His mother’s passing was a blow for him as he is still coming to terms with the passing of his spouse Catherine Modisane on December 31 2018.

 

“My mother and my spouse where everything to me and I was arranging to record a melody for my mother in Eminent, as it’s woman’s month, but it wasn’t implied to be. She bolstered me in my attempting times and stood tall for me whereas the nation turned on me.”

 

 

He was allowed a uncommon abatement of sentence final year.

 

Pitch Dark Afro was sentenced to 10 a long time in jail for at fault crime, of which five were suspended, in June 2020 for the passing of Modisane. He served three years.

 

 

Correctional administrations office representative Singabakho Nxumalo told TshisaLIVE final year the muso was discharged from jail.

 

“The division can affirm Thulani Ngcobo was discharged as his sentence terminated on Admirable 18 [2023]. He profited from the uncommon abatement of sentence,” he said at the time.

 

“Culpable manslaughter is among the offenses secured by the uncommon reduction of sentences. There are no conditions to his discharge as his sentence has expired.”
