The Queen actress Thembsie Matu is finally out of the hospital. Thembsie was admitted thanks to COVID-19.

Taking to Instagram to open up about her experience, the actress said she is grateful to still be alive.

She says within the video ( translation) “It’s been a short time since I spoke to you about i might wish to express my gratitude because i’m still alive. God is merciful.”

Thembsie thanked the hospital staff for saving her life, she said they worked hard to stay her alive

“I would really like to thank the Clinton hospital staff because they worked really hard on behalf of me to still be alive today. Covid-19 almost took my life, i used to be within the hospital for five full weeks, sick, fighting for my life while they worked to stay me alive,

“The song that kept me alive i do not know whether i used to be singing it or speaking but it’s is that the song by Joyous Celebration titled ‘Ndenzel’ Uncedo’ i used to be saying that, asking God to not live me, “the darkness is here please don’t leave me,” she said.

The actress said she is grateful to be reception , however, she has not fully recovered. She said her other hand doesn’t work properly.

“I’m very grateful that i’m still alive, breathing, and Covid free. But I’m not fully recovered yet because my hand remains not working properly.”

She said two days after she was released from the hospital, she got the news that Mr. Sho also referred to as Shona Ferguson had gave up the ghost .

Another popular media personality who recently opened about the fight with COVID-19 is Jacaranda FM presenter and former Miss SA Liesl Laurie.


Liesel and her fiancé Dr. Musa Mthombeni had tested positive to COVID-19 a couple of weeks after their engagement.

Taking to Instagram Liesel said she was grateful to possess made it out alive. She also thanked her fiance, family, and friends for his or her love and support.

She wrote: “I am officially Covid negative and what a rollercoaster it’s been. i’m so grateful to possess made it out on the opposite side, grateful for the amazing person @drmusamthombeni grateful for loving family and amazing friends…

“Grateful that I even have an exquisite job with a corporation that’s there for you throughout @jacarandafm @jacabreakfast. Grateful for all times , health, love, and every one the moments in between. i will be able to still live my life with the Attitude of Gratitude.”
