Speaking when Shona’s death, Connie disclosed however they’d been designing for the marriage day before his untimely death.
“This day, 20 years ago (31 July 2001), was the day God brought you into my life, and we haven’t looked back since! Ours is a once in a lifetime kind of love. We joked about how we were going to be in our old age. How we would take turns supporting each other and being strong for each other. The irony is we have already been doing that for the past 20 years! Oh how God has loved me to give me YOU! We were already planning our 20th wedding anniversary in November, assuming that we had time!😭💔 You and I were joined at the hip, now I feel completely off balance, incomplete, without my other half! My SOULMATE!😭😭😭💔,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, Connie Ferguson’s girl, Lesedi conjointly took to her Instagram page to would like them a cheerful day and paid tribute to each of them following Shona’s late win at this year’s GQ awards. She wrote
“I liked it better when you were our angel on earth; at least I could nag you on if you’d eaten yet or find you sitting weirdly on the couch, or catch you up on everything MCU related.
The more time that passes, the more I feel like I left too many things unsaid. The more I question whether I showed my love for you enough, and regret the hugs I didn’t give or take. I also question if I made you proud then and I’m making you proud now. I’m trying. Don’t know if I’m succeeding.
It’s not just 4 months since we lost you. It’s also your 20 year anniversary with Ma @connie_ferguson. I cannot imagine how bittersweet today is and I’m honestly heartbroken just thinking about it. Please be with her today. She misses you more than words can describe. We all do. 😔🕊♥️”
